Alda Hotel

Excellent location in the heart of Reykjavik, near shops, restaurants, etc. the hotel facilities were good although it is not of a 4 star quality; our room was clean but small, no cupboard and not space to place our things, we found the bathroom was not enough heated; service and breakfast was satisfactory, most staff helpful and friendly except for one lady at the reception the day of our departure, (long story I’d rather spare the details) in short, she was very rude, cold as ice, zero empathy!! I was extremely chocked with her attitude, reason why I rate 3; what a shame!

Great hotel, amazing location on 'lagèr vegus' strip wherè all the bars and restaurants/shopping is, 100mtrs to the bus collection stop, hotel well decorated, bar attached (but not part of hotel) breakfast was tasty and lots of choice my ONLY gripe is you cant put drinks on your room as the bar/restaurant isnt owned by the hotel! Apart from that great hotel.

We had an amazing time staying here! The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious (we stayed in the Queen Deluxe). The only complaint we have was that there were no full length mirrors! Please put one inside the closets, such an easy fix. They provided L’Occitane soaps and lotions as part of every room. The breakfast here was 10/10. The hot breakfast buffet was just phenomenal. So many choices to choose from. They normally serve scramble eggs, beans, bacon potatoes, and sausages as the hot food dishes. They also have cereal, oatmeal, pastries, cheeses, smoked salmon, Icelandic tomatoes, fruits and skyr. We were here for almost a week so we pretty much memorized the menu. It would’ve been nice if they changed it up a bit every other day (I.e. sunny side up eggs one day and scrambled another). Highly recommend staying here!

Absolutely amazing. We had a 3 night stay and honestly didn’t want to leave. We had a 4th floor balcony room and it was so beautiful and comfortable. The location is perfect and the view from the balcony was out of a post card. Front desk staff is very helpful and cheerful all day! The hotel is beautifully designed and stylish. I felt at home and honestly didn’t want to leave on our last day. The hotel is close to great restaurants and all the Reykjavik spots. 10 out of 10.

My 1st time in Iceland but not my last. This crew shows what service is about. They set up all my trips and when one ran late for my next trip to the Blue Lagoon they bought a taxi and sent me there. Above and beyond. Thank you, thank you to the staff for making it right and ending my night wonderfully. My wife’s birthday was not ruined !

Overall a pleasant experience. Front desk staff extremely helpful. Only downside is that the rooms are a bit warm and if you have a street facing view, you get drunk people screaming/singing when the bars close (2am during the week), but closing the windows makes the room a bit too warm. Suggest that you get a non street facing room if you are noise sensitive. Front desk was proactive if offering a new room in the middle of the night that was not street facing, so cheers to that!
